"The internet's cool for some stuff, but at the end of the day, there's no book stores, there's no music stores, and there's no Sound City."
Josh Homme, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal
Founded in 1969, Sound City is the birthplace of many of the greatest recordings in rock and roll history. In each decade of operation, from the late sixties until now, our vintage analog equipment has captured the sounds of some of the world’s most important and best-loved music.
From the seminal 70s sounds of Neil Young’s “After The Gold Rush” to the 80’s hits by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and spanning the decades to one of the most heralded albums of all time, Nirvana’s “Nevermind,” Sound City’s unique sound sets the foundation for great recordings.
The studio continues to be family-owned and operated with the highest degree of care and attention for each of our clients.
